Request a basement waterproofing visit
If water is coming in right now, call. For a crack you've been watching, an aging sump pump or a basement that stays damp all summer, send a request and a waterproofing company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the request reaches a company that works in your town
- Where you see water: the floor edge, a crack, a window well, or just dampness and smell
- When it happens: during storms, a day or two later, or mostly in spring
- Your wall type if you know it: poured concrete, block, brick or clay tile
- Whether you have a sump pump, how old it is and where it discharges
Water near the furnace, water heater or outlets? Stay out of standing water if anything electrical could be wet. Only shut off basement power at the panel if you can reach it from a dry spot.
